A reference in oil and gas Exploration and Development worldwide, Vitor was part of the leadership of the Exploration team at the largest oil company in the world, ExxonMobil.

Founder and President of ACT Geo, renowned consultancy boutique in Petroleum Geology and global Exploration, Vitor is a professional extremely sought after by companies around the world, both to provide training to Exploration teams and to develop exploratory projects.

At ExxonMobil, he coordinated assessments and important exploratory discoveries, such as the discovery in Guyana province, with the drilling of the Liza-1 well. He also led important discoveries in the Caspian Sea and in Ghana.

A Brazilian Geologist with 38 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry, Vitor started his career at Petrobras and has lived in Brazil and the United States, where he has been based for 25 years. PhD from Rice University, Vitor has experience in sedimentary basins of all continents.

He has been a Professor at Rice University since 2000 and has published many important scientific papers in Petroleum Geology in the best journals in the world, as well as three Petroleum Geology reference books used worldwide.
